{"id":102105,"date":"2020-08-02T19:49:30","date_gmt":"2020-08-02T23:49:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=102105"},"modified":"2020-08-02T19:49:30","modified_gmt":"2020-08-02T23:49:30","slug":"perennial-fest-favorites-the-sofa-kings-to-perform-at-steelstacks-aug-6-during-musikfest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=102105","title":{"rendered":"Perennial Fest Favorites The Sofa Kings to Perform at SteelStacks Aug. 6 During Musikfest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Featured Image: <i>Sofa Kings photo from a previous Musikfest<\/i><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><i>ArtsQuest Announces Sixth &amp; Final Band Performing Live as Part of 2020\u00a0<\/i><i>Festival\u00a0<\/i><\/strong><i><u><\/u>\u00a0<u><\/u><\/i><\/p>\n<p>BETHLEHEM, PA&#8211;Following the success of two sold-out shows this weekend, ArtsQuest is pleased to announce its sixth and final live show as part of Musikfest 2020.\u00a0\u00a0Philadelphia\u2019s The Sofa Kings will take to the Highmark Blue Shield Community Stage on the Air Products Town Square on Thurs., Aug. 6, at 7 p.m.\u00a0\u00a0The only way to attend the performance is to reserve in advance at\u00a0<a id=\"m_1722206001109255395LPNoLPOWALinkPreview_0\" href=\"http:\/\/www.musikfest.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/www.musikfest.org&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1596498023734000&amp;usg=AFQjCNF1iSWs_0eoo_t0XL_UTtjVNg42bA\">www.musikfest.org<\/a>\u00a0a table on the Town Square or a spot on the adjacent Levitt Pavilion lawn.\u00a0<u><\/u>\u00a0<u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Both table and lawn spot reservations are good for single parties of up to four people, with campus attendance limited to ensure proper safe social distancing and follow all CDC, state and city health &amp; safety guidelines. Air Products Town Square guests can enjoy dinner available from the ArtsQuest Center menu. Levitt Pavilion lawn spots will be spaced accordingly to follow safe social distancing and food and beverages can be ordered via the Mack Truck Stop, bar on the lawn and the \u201cFest Food To-go Service,\u201d featuring 10 Musikfest food vendors set up on PNC Plaza.<u><\/u>\u00a0<u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0high-energy ,10-piece band, The Sofa Kings serve up the best in dance music, Motown, R&amp;B, classic rock and Billboard chart hits.<a>\u00a0Reservations for their show are $50 for a Town Square Table and $20 for Levitt Pavilion lawn squares. Reservations are available first to ArtsQuest Members starting tomorrow, Aug. 3, at 9 a.m.\u00a0\u00a0The public can start making reservations at noon Aug. 3. Select spots also remain for Hector Rosado Orchestra Aug. 8 and Danielle Ponder and the closing night-fireworks display Aug. 9.<\/a><u><\/u>\u00a0<u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis past weekend, we had two wonderful live performances at SteelStacks, giving a limited number of guests an opportunity to enjoy the elements that have made Musikfest so popular over the years,\u201d says ArtsQuest Chief Programming Officer Patrick Brogan. \u201cThe only reason we are able to add this sixth show is because everyone was so respectful of each other, following all social distancing and COVID-19 safety guidelines and regulations.\u00a0<u><\/u>\u00a0<u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven people who were up and dancing were doing so right by their tables, with their masks on.\u00a0\u00a0There aren\u2019t many events offering live experiences right now, so we are thrilled to be able to present a small taste of what our festival traditionally looks and sounds like. Only two weeks ago, we were not certain we could offer any live programs, so holding six shows over 10 days is a bit miraculous.\u201d<u><\/u>\u00a0<u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Musikfest 2020, presented by the nonprofit\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsquest.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/www.artsquest.org\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1596498023735000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHvzdX-uHyhU9HCGZ2isT_szbensA\">ArtsQuest<\/a>, will continue through Aug. 9. This year\u2019s festival includes 90 streaming sets by artists like KT Tunstall, Robert Randolph and Rusted Root\u2019s Michael Glabicki, as well as six live performances on the SteelStacks campus.
