This event is a virtual event, free and open to the public via pre-registration at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechc.org\/event_calendar\/event_calendar.html\">https:\/\/www.thechc.org\/event_calendar\/event_calendar.html<\/a>. Brian Sabo, Rhonda Miller and Eric Klein will be the facilitators for this event.<\/p>\n<p>Brian Sabo: As a Certified Recovery Specialist, Brian is passionate about helping others struggling with Substance Use Disorder. As Director of Hope Center, a safe haven for individuals suffering from SUD, he encourages and inspires others to live a life of recovery. Brian will share his own story, discuss treatment options and explain how Hope Center directly impacts the community<\/p>\n<p>Rhonda Miller: Rhonda\u2019s family was forever changed by her son Ben\u2019s struggle with substance use disorder and subsequent overdose death. Today, as a Certified Family Recovery Specialist, and the force behind <em>Speak Up for Ben, Inc.\u00a0<\/em>and the\u00a0<em>Oasis Community Center<\/em>, she is dedicated to helping families affected by addiction. Rhonda will share her family\u2019s story, <em>Speak Up for Ben\u2019s<\/em> mission, and discuss how stigma around SUD affects families.<\/p>\n<p>Eric Klein: In addition to his work as a psychotherapist, Eric teaches the Certified Recovery Specialist course at NCC, where he co-developed their Collegiate Recovery Program. Eric serves as a board member of REACHLV, a newly opened youth recovery center, and personally identifies as a person in recovery. Eric will explain the role of Collegiate Recovery Programs and why they work, discuss the concerns around reaching underrepresented populations in the recovery community, and address the issue of stigma as a barrier to treatment.
