Reilly, President of City Center Investment Corporation, and his wife Kathleen will co-chair the 2020 campaign for United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley (UWGLV).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs long-time supporters of United Way, we\u2019re honored to be co-chairs of this campaign. Given the extraordinary circumstances this year with the pandemic, our community needs are greater than ever, and we need United Way\u2019s leadership more than ever. When you support United Way, you\u2019re going to see that the community gets the biggest possible impact of your generosity,\u201d said J.B. Reilly.<\/p>\n<p>Through the 2020 campaign, United Way will raise funds to meet community members\u2019 basic needs such as housing through critical services in the areas of education, emergency services, food access and healthy aging.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re asking long-time and new supporters of United Way to dig deep and do the most that they can do. This really is the year to step up in the biggest way possible, so that we can get support into the communities that need it most,\u201d added Kathleen Reilly.<\/p>\n<p>Reports estimate that at least 40% of households in the Greater Lehigh Valley are facing serious financial instability and food insecurity following the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will take months, maybe even years, for our families to recover from the pandemic, and I can\u2019t think of anyone better to rally support than J.B. and Kathleen. They are truly devoted to building our community and providing those critical resources for our children, families and older adults,\u201d said David Lewis, President of UWGLV.<\/p>\n<p>With a shared passion for enhancing life in the Lehigh Valley, J.B. and Kathleen have partnered to make a difference for students, residents, organizations and businesses in and around Allentown, Pennsylvania, their hometown. J.B. and Kathleen have been recognized for their longstanding support of various local organizations, including the YMCA, The Baum School of Art, the Boys &amp; Girls Club, Valley Youth House, and<\/p>\n<p>Communities in Schools to name a few. The couple\u2019s philanthropic support recently helped establish the Lehigh Valley Reilly Children\u2019s Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>J.B. has 30 years of experience in commercial and residential real estate development and planning, finance management and law. His extensive mixed-use development and community partnerships in downtown Allentown through City Center Investment Corp. have been instrumental in the city\u2019s revitalization.<\/p>\n<p>J.B. and Kathleen have been active with a wide array of regional community and charitable organizations for more than 25 years. J.B. is a trustee of Lafayette College, a former trustee of DeSales University and a former board member and chair of Lehigh Valley Health Network.<\/p>\n<p>Kathleen has a passion for education and supporting the well-being of children. She serves as a trustee of DeSales University and The Baum School of Art. Kathleen is a former trustee of Moravian Academy and former member of the Tocqueville Society\u2019s Advisory Cabinet.
