{"id":102645,"date":"2020-09-02T17:22:42","date_gmt":"2020-09-02T21:22:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=102645"},"modified":"2021-02-17T15:42:57","modified_gmt":"2021-02-17T20:42:57","slug":"northampton-countys-elections-office-is-processing-mail-in-ballot-applications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=102645","title":{"rendered":"Northampton County&#8217;s Elections Office is processing mail-in ballot applications"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>Lamont McClure wants Northampton County voters to be assured that the Election\u2019s Office is busy preparing and planning for the General Election on November 3<sup>rd<\/sup>.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cFor those who want to vote at the polls, we plan on fully staffing 154 precincts with 315 voting machines,\u201d says Lamont McClure. \u201cAnd for those who would prefer to vote via a mail-in ballot, Elections Office employees are working hard to process the applications.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>As of September 1, the Elections office has processed 48,496 applications: Democratic \u2013 31,827, Republican &#8211; 11,232, the remaining are other various parties.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>Act 77, passed in 2019, allows Pennsylvania voters to cast a no-excuse ballot by mail.
