Students in the nursing home\u2019s Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program will now receive a salary of $250 a week in addition to free tuition for the four-week training program.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cWe are being aggressive in re-tooling our Gracedale workforce as we prepare to battle the upcoming cold and flu season,\u201d says Lamont McClure.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cThis pilot program will open opportunities for people who want to enter the medical profession, but haven\u2019t been able to forgo a salary while they get trained,\u201d says Jennifer Stewart-King. \u201cStudents will be considered contract workers while enrolled in the program, but have the opportunity to get hired into full-time positions once they complete their training.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>This change is made possible by CARES Act money which allows for the hiring of staff.
