Bring your <\/strong>blankets\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<\/strong>lawn chairs and come celebrate Indigenous People\u2019s Day with us at our outdoor event honoring Native American heritage with live drumming, singing, dancing, food, and family-friendly educational activities. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Admission is $5 \/ person ages 12 to adult; FREE for children under 12.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0We will require masks and social distancing during this outdoor event.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Museum of Indian Culture<\/strong>\u00a0in Allentown, PA, invites the public to its first official\u00a0\u201cIndigenous Peoples Day Celebration\u201d<\/strong> on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020 from 10 am \u2013 4 pm. Join in solidarity with Indigenous peoples to celebrate their rich cultures, histories, and heritage. Come together on Lenape land to learn about what Indigenous People\u2019s Day means to Native American peoples and why it is increasingly celebrated across the country. Performances include Native American Drumming by White Buffalo Singers, Rosebud – Sioux Tribe, hand drumming and social dancing.<\/p>\n

The celebration includes a variety of activities for people of all ages, such as cornhusk doll making, life skills demonstrations including Atlatl and Tomahawk throwing, natural dye making, flute making, flint knapping, fishing and hunting techniques, basketry, and Native American artifact displays and identification. American Indian cuisine of Indian Tacos, Frybread, Corn Soup and Buffalo Burgers will be available. There will also be Native American silver and beaded jewelry, pottery, and other handcrafts for sale.<\/p>\n

The Museum of Indian Culture is a non-profit, member supported educational resource center dedicated to presenting, preserving, and perpetuating the history and cultural heritage of the Northeast Woodland Indians and other Native\u00a0American Nations.<\/p>\n
