BETHLEHEM, Pa\u00a0– Machines of Interest: The Selected Works of Stephen Mallon,\u00a0<\/em>a new exhibit featuring over two dozen original prints from the New York-based photographer, is set to debut this Saturday, October 17th<\/sup>\u00a0at Bethlehem\u2019s National Museum of Industrial History (NMIH).<\/p>\n

Machines of Interest<\/em>\u00a0highlights Mallon’s most recent\u00a0projects in a celebration of beauty and function intersecting with the natural world. The exhibit features photos from the artist\u2019s collection spanning life on the rails to deconstruction in the recycling yard to unique perspectives of human-made machines. Stephen\u2019s work will give visitors a look at industry like never before.<\/p>\n

\u201cStephen\u2019s crisp, detailed, and beautiful images are something to behold,\u201d said Glenn Koehler, Director of Marketing and Public Relations at NMIH. \u201cHis eye for finding beauty in industrial landscapes and his diverse body of work will resonate with everyone from art enthusiasts to engineers to hobby photographers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stephen Mallon is well known for his series\u00a0Next Stop Atlantic<\/em>\u00a0featuring decommissioned NYC Subway cars as they are retired to the depths of the Atlantic Ocean as artificial reefs, as well as his series\u00a0Brace for Impact<\/em>\u00a0which chronicles the reclamation of the plane successfully landed in the waters of the Hudson River by Captain \u201cSully\u201d Sullenburger. Mallon\u2019s work has been exhibited in museums and galleries internationally, and his work has been written about in publications that include National Geographic, The New Yorker, New York Times, Vanity Fair, Wired, Stern, PetaPixel, Viral Forest, BuzzFeed, New York Magazine, and The Huffington Post.\u00a0 Mallon\u2019s work has also been featured on CNN, CBS, MSNBC, and NPR.<\/p>\n

Entry to\u00a0Machines of Interest: The Selected Works of Stephen Mallon<\/em>\u00a0is included in regular museum admission.
