Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley ensures that local women are equipped to help build homes in the Allentown, Easton, and Bethlehem areas, thus providing safe, affordable shelter for hardworking, low-income families.

Habitat LV’s Women Build 2020 plants its roots in Habitat for Humanity International’s Women Build Week, which began in 1991. Motivated by a strong desire to serve their community and volunteer alongside future Habitat homeowners, generations of women across the country have participated in this engaging and exciting week that aims to bring women together to empower each other and to proactively serve their local neighborhoods.

While normally limited to just one week of events, Habitat LV’s Women Build 2020 could not be contained, having had such an overwhelming response that an additional two build days were added. On October 20, 22, 24, 27, and 29, women from across the Lehigh Valley will forge strong relationships with each other while working hand in hand with Habitat LV’s core construction staff and volunteers on an active, eight-home job site. No prior experience is necessary for this incredible event. Participants will walk away with a brand new skill set and the empowerment of knowing they helped build a home for a low-income family in need of reliable shelter. The construction and repair skills learned on site are an added bonus! Women Build directly ties into Habitat LV’s Women Build Circle, a group of like-minded women who come together to empower women in the homeownership program by building strength, stability, and self-reliance.

If you are interested in learning more about Women Build at Habitat Lehigh Valley, contact Alli Ingram, Habitat LV’s Director of Marketing and Resource Development today at alli@habitatlv.org to find out more and learn more about Habitat LV’s Women Build Circle.

Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley (Habitat LV) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.

Information provided to TVL by:
Alli Ingram
Director of Marketing & Resource Development
Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley

 Habitat LV’s Women Build 2020 brings female empowerment to the forefront to build homes in Allentown More than just a pop culture phenomenon of the mid to late nineties, … Continue reading Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley builds dreams and empowers women →

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[69,482

post-103429","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-in-the-valley","category-press-release-2
