Presents\u00a0\u201cShake It Up Lehigh Valley\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0first annual fundraiser on Nov.18, 2020 to benefit the Parkinson\u2019s Community\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Gray Strong Foundation is excited to present\u00a0Shake it Up Lehigh Valley \u2013 A Virtual Gala & Auction<\/strong>\u00a0to support and raise awareness for the Parkinson\u2019s (PD) community.<\/p>\n On\u00a0Wednesday, November 18th<\/sup><\/strong>\u00a0beginning at\u00a05pm<\/strong>, tune in for feature presentations from\u00a0Joshua Kiner, Director of St. Luke\u2019s Physical Therapy<\/strong>,\u00a0Dr. Musa Tangoren of LV Hospital<\/strong>,\u00a0Dr. Howard Gendelman of UNMC Pharmacology and Experimental Neuroscience<\/strong>, and our\u00a0Keynote Speaker Tim Hague, Sr<\/strong>. \u2013\u00a0Amazing Race Canada Winner<\/strong>, Motivational Speaker and author of\u00a0Perseverance: The Seven Skills You Need to Survive, Thrive and Accomplish More Than You Ever Imagined<\/em>.<\/p>\n The lineup includes a special appearance from a notable Parkinson\u2019s community spokesperson as well as surprise musical artists.\u00a0 Gala virtual viewers are encouraged to bid on \u201clive\u201d auction\u00a0items donated from the area\u2019s top 100 companies, including Abbott, Americaven, Medtronic, Michael J. Fox Foundation, Nippon Life Benefits, Shepherd Hills Golf Club, Shootworks, Steel Club, Yanni\u2019s Taverna, The Yoga Hut and Travel Experiences to see Hamilton on Broadway and a Disney World Family Adventure.<\/p>\n The Gray Strong Foundation was founded by local EMT and Michael J. Fox Foundation Ambassador, Eric Aquino, after he was diagnosed with Parkinson\u2019s Disease at age 40. While undergoing treatment, Aquino discovered there was a lack of resources in his area. So, he established a support system by creating a podcast \u201cTrembling EMT\u201d to shed light on one of many Parkinson\u2019s journeys and help start a conversation about the disease.<\/p>\n Gray Strong\u2019s mission is to help individuals and their families move forward with Parkinson\u2019s while raising awareness in the community. They help individuals #moveforwardwithparkinsons by providing medical needs and program resource support for Parkinson\u2019s patients and their families.<\/p>\n \u201cWith Parkinson\u2019s, our health can change in a matter of days or weeks. It\u2019s important for scientists to know how things are changing over time so they can develop better treatments,\u201d Eric says.
