Savings realized under Startup for Soldiers program created by Mackenzie legislation<\/em><\/p>\n HARRISBURG<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 A law authored by Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Lehigh\/Berks) a few years ago, known as Startups for Soldiers, is having continued success with 3,327 veterans and reservists saving $373,185 in business and professional licensing fee exemptions from September 2019 to August 2020.<\/p>\n The program was designed to waive state business startup fees for individuals transitioning to the civilian workforce from the United States Armed Forces, including reserve units and the National Guard.<\/p>\n \u201cThis program is just one small way in which we can help our veterans transition back to civilian life and start a new chapter,\u201d said Mackenzie. \u201cSo many veterans return home with new skills and ideas for starting their own business only to be encumbered by the true costs of starting a new business.
