CATHOLIC CHARITIES DIOCESE OF ALLENTOWN\u00a0– A Volunteer Ombudsman is a community neighbor specially trained to find answers and resolve simple problems older adults experience in the long-term care system.\u00a0Catholic Charities is looking for volunteers who enjoy visiting with others and have 3-4 hours a month available. After completing training, an Ombudsman advocates and educates residents and their families and encourages self-resolution. HOLIDAY HOPE CHESTS\u00a0<\/a>need volunteers to donate wrapped shoeboxes filled with age appropriate items for Lehigh Valley\u2019s children in need.\u00a0Suggested gift lists are provided on our website.\u00a0This program, coordinated by the Volunteer Center, is a great project for large\/small groups, clubs, classes, families, and individuals.\u00a0To participate, go to\u00a0www.volunteerlv.org\/holiday-hope-chests<\/a>\u00a0and fill out a 2020 Donor Pledge Form.<\/div>\n

LEHIGH VALLEY ZOO, Schnecksville\u00a0is looking for volunteers to help make our annual Winter Lights Spectacular event more fun starting November 13th and running to January 2nd. Shifts 5:30PM-10PM for Wednesday and Thursday, and 4:30-10PM for Friday through Sunday. Volunteers will assist with our concession stands, crafts booth, activities booths, attending fire pits, photo booth station, and more.\u00a0Minimum age:13. MEALS ON WHEELS OF THE GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY\u00a0needs individuals to grocery shop for seniors who are unable to go to the store due to disability or concerns of COVID-19.\u00a0Shoppers receive a grocery list and assigned grocery store and purchase the items on the list.\u00a0Then, the individuals drop the groceries off at the client’s home.\u00a0At times, the client may need assistance putting the groceries in cabinets, refrigerator, etc. Facemasks, gloves, hand sanitizer and other supplies to keep you and the client safe from infection provided.
