The Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation is expanding its \u201cRecreation at Home\u201d virtual programming series with the addition of an \u201cActive Allentown\u201d calendar.<\/p>\n
Throughout 2021, on the 1st<\/sup> of each month Parks and Recreation staff will debut a monthly calendar full of a variety of activities for participants to enjoy.<\/p>\n This program encourages school aged children to become more active by taking small steps towards a healthier lifestyle. Each day participants are asked to try a different physical, mental, or emotional activity with a household family member and\/or adult supervision.<\/p>\n \u201cOur goal is to emphasize that recreation can occur anywhere, whether at home, in your neighborhood or in one of the city\u2019s many park spaces,\u201d said Parks & Recreation Director Karen El-Chaar. \u00a0\u201cAdditionally, we want to promote the various ways individuals and families can lead healthy lifestyles.
