Univest Financial virtually presents a $5,000 check to A Moment of Magic Foundation \u2013 Temple University, the winner of its ninth annual Caring for Community Giveaway.<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n January 7, 2021 <\/strong>\u2013\u00a0Univest Financial recently announced\u00a0A Moment of Magic Foundation\u2019s Temple University Chapter<\/a>\u00a0as the winner of its ninth annual\u00a0Caring for Community Giveaway,<\/em>\u00a0a contest that awards $5,000 to a local, nonprofit organization. A Moment of Magic Foundation\u2019s mission is to restore the magic of believing at a time when a child needs to \u201cjust be a kid\u201d and reminding them to be brave, strong and fearless. They do this by providing a variety of services to hospitals, nonprofit organizations and individual families. A Moment of Magic Foundation consists of college-age students dressing as some of the world’s most popular princesses and other characters for bedside visits, event appearances, book readings, sing-a-longs and character video calls. The Temple University Chapter has created moments of magic for more than 8,000 children in the Philadelphia area and beyond.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Nonprofit groups were nominated for the $5,000 donation by the public through\u00a0Univest\u2019s\u00a0Facebook<\/a>,\u00a0Instagram<\/a>,\u00a0Twitter<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0LinkedIn<\/a>\u00a0pages. The Moment of Magic Foundation was randomly selected from more than 3,000 entries representing 125 local, nonprofit organizations. Previous winners of the Caring for Community Giveaway were Kisses for Kyle Foundation, Quakertown Community Outreach, Logan\u2019s Heroes Animal Rescue, Hope Against Heroin, St. Isidore School,\u00a0The Grannie Project, Vets for Vets and the Bucks County SPCA.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The contest launched December 1, 2020 and entries were accepted through December 31, 2020. To be eligible to win the $5,000, the nonprofit group had to be a\u00a0registered 501 (c) (3) organization that\u00a0operates within Univest\u2019s service area.
