EASTON, PA \u2013 January 19, 2021 \u2013 Easton Mayor Salvatore Panto, Jr. has announced the promotion of Acting Fire Chief Henry Hennings to the role of Fire Chief of the Easton Fire Department.<\/p>\n
Prior to becoming Acting Fire Chief upon the retirement of former Fire Chief Mike Krill in July 2020, Hennings was Deputy Fire Chief and Fire Marshal. He joined the Easton Fire Department as a firefighter in 2004 after leaving the City of Philadelphia Fire Department where he was a firefighter-EMT. During his 17-year career with the department he\u2019s also held the titles of Lieutenant and Captain, as well as Emergency Management Coordinator. His career history includes positions as an MICU Paramedic in Upper Merion, Lancaster and Bangor.<\/p>\n
\u201cEaston is proud of our full-time professional fire department, and Henry will bring the leadership needed to continue the professionalism of the department,\u201d said Mayor Panto.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am looking forward to working with the administration and the firefighter\u2019s union to better the department,\u201d said Hennings.<\/p>\n
Hennings will continue to oversee a team of more than 40 firefighters, directing all activities of the fire department including developing and executing policies, coordinating work within the department as well as on an interdepartmental level, and serving as a member of the Mayor\u2019s Executive Leadership Team.<\/p>\n
Hennings is a Pennsylvania Health Department-certified EMT-Paramedic having completed training through the Lehigh Valley Hospital Center EMT-Paramedic Program in 1992. He is currently enrolled in Bucks Community College where he is studying fire science. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he served as a Fire Protection Specialist and EMT from 1982-1988. His long list of professional certifications includes fire officer levels 1- 4, fire instructor levels 1 and 2, fire inspector levels 1 and 2, fire investigator, and many more.<\/p>\n
He is a member of the Pennsylvania Career Fire Chiefs Association, the International Association of Arson Investigators, and the Pennsylvania Association of Arson Investigators.<\/p>\n
