{"id":105583,"date":"2021-03-02T23:33:34","date_gmt":"2021-03-03T04:33:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=105583"},"modified":"2021-03-02T23:33:34","modified_gmt":"2021-03-03T04:33:34","slug":"honor-your-hometown-hero","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=105583","title":{"rendered":"Honor Your Hometown Hero"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Allentown streets will be decorated with Hometown Hero banners to recognize and honor past and present military veterans.<\/p>\n<p>Families may honor any living or deceased loved one who was a veteran of the U.S Armed Forces as long as the person to be honored has a past or present connection to the city of Allentown.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who is honored on Allentown War Memorials,\u00a0and veterans recommended by the local VFW\u00a0or American Legion posts are also eligible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cResidents of the city of Allentown have always been eager to answer their country\u2019s call,\u201d said Mayor Ray O\u2019Connell.\u00a0 \u201cThe banners are a small way to honor them for their service.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Each banner costs $130.00.
