(LEHIGH VALLEY, PA) – On Saturday, March 20, from 5-7 p.m., or until supplies are exhausted, ASPIRE to Autonomy will host another food distribution for the underserved and unsheltered members of our community. This month, ASPIRE has partnered with Aman\u2019s Artisan Indian Cuisine, More Than Q BBQ, St. John\u2019s United Church of Christ, Unidos Foundation, Light On The Horizon, Ciao Sandwich Shoppe, and others.<\/p>\n
ASPIRE\u2019s Pandemic Response food distributions are part of the organization’s Community Intervention Services – an initiative that provides outreach, identification, engagement, and assessment of individuals in the community, specifically those who are underserved and unsheltered with substance use and mental health needs.<\/p>\n
Community workers are able to broker individuals to services that address their immediate needs, while also providing them with proper PPE aligned with the CDC guidelines to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in Northampton County. So far the team, along with the support of community partnerships has been able to provide:<\/p>\n
On February 4, ASPIRE hosted their fourth food distribution with the support of Just Born and New Bethany Ministries. ASPIRE\u2019s team spread across two locations: New Bethany Ministries in Bethlehem and Centennial Park in Easton. The team distributed 150 boxes of 40 pounds of food at each location. Individuals were also provided with masks and hand sanitizer.<\/p>\n
