Center Valley, PA. | Monday, May 10th<\/sup>, 2021<\/strong>\u00a0Girl power is no longer some fleeing fad of the 90s and early 2000s. Female empowerment is a movement, and its momentum is ever-growing and powerful. Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley is part of that movement – it supports women as homeowners, as philanthropists, and as skilled workers in the fields of real estate, construction, design, drafting, and contracting.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n On Monday, May 10th, 2021, Habitat Lehigh Valley will resurrect its annual She Nailed It! all female, nail-hammering competition at the Centennial Event Center at Homewood Suites in Center Valley, PA, to raise funds for its homeownership program. At SNI, women from all over the Lehigh Valley will compete in teams of four to see which team hammers a nail flush into a board the fastest. For the first time ever, over 35 teams are competing to win the coveted hammer trophies in an outdoor competition that includes a best tailgate award, drinks, food, raffle baskets, a 50\/50 drawing, and a hammer pull for wine and spirits prizes. All funds raised from SNI 2021 will directly support Habitat Lehigh Valley\u2019s homeownership programs for local, low-income, hardworking families in need.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Honing their hammering and construction skills, these women are dedicated to the mission of Habitat Lehigh Valley and a future where everyone deserves a decent place to live. They are stay-at-home moms, lawyers, teachers, investment consultants, builders, animal rescue workers, frontline workers, bankers, CEOs, business owners, and so much more…they are female, and they are building strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. They are making sure women have a path to successful homeownership in an affordable, safe, reliable, and secure living environment.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In 2019 and 2020, 75% of new Habitat Lehigh Valley homeowners were single mothers. At Habitat Lehigh Valley, they are dedicated to making sure that mothers can provide for their families and tackle whatever challenges may come their way along with homeownership: establishing and maintaining a budget, investing in education and health care, and home repair and maintenance. These skills are crucial to a successful future and without them, too many women have encountered roadblocks that prevent them from building dreams.
