The City of Allentown\u2019s Million Clicks for a Million Hearts walking program is expanding to an 11th<\/sup>\u00a0location.<\/p>\n Mayor Ray O\u2019Connell clicked-in at the newest location at Lehigh Canal Park this afternoon where a job-clock was installed at the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor Trail.<\/p>\n The Million Clicks for a Million Hearts program began in 2016 in the city.\u00a0 Nearly 4,000 participants have joined the program.\u00a0 Walkers can click-in the job-clock with their member key tabs so their walks are logged and counted.\u00a0 Prizewinning clicks are chosen every month.<\/p>\n O\u2019Connell said, \u201cAccording to federal statistics, one in three deaths in the United States is due to cardiovascular disease.\u00a0Increasing physical activity is just one step you can take to fight heart disease.<\/em>\u00a0<\/em>The Million Hearts walking program encourages healthy living and reduces the risk of heart attacks and strokes.\u201d<\/p>\n The weather-resistant time clocks are positioned on wooden posts at the 11 locations in the city along with a sign indicating that walkers can \u201cClick, Walk & Win!\u201d<\/p>\n The other ten job-clocks are located at the LifeTrail in Cedar Creek Parkway, Trexler Park, Andre Reed Park, two in Lehigh Parkway, Stevens Park, West Park, Jordan Park, Roosevelt Park and at 9th<\/sup>\u00a0and Hamilton streets.<\/p>\n Registration for the program can be done on-line at\u00a0www.allentownpa.gov\/millionhearts<\/a>\u00a0or send a completed sign-up form to the Allentown Health Bureau at 245 N. 6th<\/sup>\u00a0Street, Allentown, Pa 1802.<\/p>\n Questions about the program can be directed to the Allentown Health Bureau at\u00a0millionclicks@allentownpa.gov<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Information provided to TVL by: <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The City of Allentown\u2019s Million Clicks for a Million Hearts walking program is expanding to an 11th\u00a0location.
