{"id":107315,"date":"2021-07-13T14:23:34","date_gmt":"2021-07-13T18:23:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=107315"},"modified":"2021-07-13T14:23:34","modified_gmt":"2021-07-13T18:23:34","slug":"human-relations-commission-accepting-award-nominations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=107315","title":{"rendered":"HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION ACCEPTING AWARD NOMINATIONS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Human Relations Commission of the City of Allentown is seeking nominations for its 2021 awards.<\/p>\n<p>The award ceremony honors community members who celebrate Allentown\u2019s diversity through their long-term commitments to a better city for all who live and work here.\u00a0 It will be held on Saturday, October 2 beginning at 4 p.m. at The Barrister\u2019s Club at 1114 Walnut Street.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Ray O\u2019Connell said, \u201cIt is important that we recognize those individuals and organizations that have established records of working diligently to advance equal opportunity in the city.\u00a0 This is an opportunity open to all citizens to nominate someone in the community deserving of recognition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The mission of the Allentown Human Relations Commission is \u201cto advance the acceptance and respect of our increasingly diverse population.\u201d The Commission seeks to highlight its goals by recognizing the achievements of those who set the best example, those whose daily lives are filled with accomplishments that promote good human relations.<\/p>\n<p>Nominees may be individuals, groups, organizations, or businesses.
