In 2020 alone, FURR matched more than 700 families and cats through adoption and trapping, neutering and returning an additional 700 “community cats” into supported colonies.

With about 25 volunteers and no official building or facilities, FURR has worked with dedicated individuals, Lehigh County Humane Society, Let’s Trap Lehigh Valley, Furry Feet Rescue and a variety of good-hearted local veterinarians. FURR accepts cats when no one else will, including cats adopted from other animal welfare organizations and cats left behind when people are evicted from their homes.

FURR also works with farmers through a free barn cat program and promotes animal companionship for senior citizens through their Senior for Seniors program, where an older adult fosters a senior cat and the organization will provide the cat’s veterinary needs and future care.

All proceeds will benefit the cats, as FURR has no paid staff. People wishing to help can visit felineurbanrescueandrehab.org and fill out a volunteer application.
