LYNN TOWNSHIP, LEHIGH COUNTY<\/strong>: Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Pat Browne (SD-16) and Representative Gary Day (HD-187) announced today (August 12) that they have secured a $200,000 state grant for the Community Fire Company of New Tripoli to replace its aging tanker truck, allowing the fire company to continue to offer its extraordinary level of emergency service response.<\/p>\n “This funding will allow our organization to continue providing a robust level of emergency services to the residents of Lynn Township and beyond, enabling us to protect life and property far into the future,\u201d Gary Kuntz, Chief of the Community Fire Company of New Tripoli, said. “We want to thank Sen. Pat Browne and Rep. Gary Day for helping to ensure that our station is ready to answer the call of residents in need.\u201d<\/p>\n The lack of a fire hydrant network in the fire company\u2019s coverage area makes the tanker truck a critical asset, allowing them to bring water to combat fires. New Tripoli\u2019s current tanker truck was purchased in 1996 and is in dire need of replacement.<\/p>\n \u201cThe commitment and resolve displayed by our local firefighters, day-in and day-out, is nothing short of extraordinary,\u201d Senator Browne said. \u201cBecause of their dedication to public safety, families can sleep a little more soundly at night, knowing that if they need help, these brave men and women are here to answer their call. I am pleased to work with Rep. Day to provide state resources to assist them in this critical mission.\u201d<\/p>\n The new Tanker will be built by Pierce Manufacturing on a Kenworth chassis featuring a 3500-gallon tank, capable of pumping 1500 gallons per minute. The truck will be equipped with a 5” supply hose and a Blitzfire-type monitor nozzle, 2 self-contained breathing apparatuses and a 35′ ladder.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m happy to support Community Fire Company of New Tripoli; they work hard to have many members trained and ready to assist citizens in our district,\u201d Rep. Day said.<\/p>\n The new truck will be delivered in the Fall of 2022 and is expected to serve the residents of Lynn Township for the next 20 or more years.<\/p>\n The 100% Volunteer Community Fire Company of New Tripoli was established in May of 1945 to provide fire services to the residents of Lynn Township.
