\u201cWe\u2019ve told our Pennsylvania Congress members and we\u2019ll tell them again: Don\u2019t come back home until you\u2019ve kept your promises on immigration.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n On Sunday night, the Senate parliamentarian issued a ruling saying the initial pathway to citizenship legislation passed by the House Judiciary Committee (for immigrant youth, TPS holders, and essential workers) cannot be included in the reconciliation package according to Senate procedure rules.<\/p>\n Patty Torres, Organizing Director for Make the Road Pennsylvania, the state\u2019s largest Latinx organizing group, issued the following statement in response to the ruling:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThe budget process is a long one, and we\u2019re still in the beginning. The parliamentarian ruled on one possible way to provide citizenship for millions of immigrants, and now it\u2019s time for Democrats to move forward with other options to finally deliver the pathway to citizenship supported by a majority of Americans.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201c115,000 people in Pennsylvania<\/a>\u00a0are counting on Congress to get this done, so they can finally become citizens, reunite with their families, and get access to better jobs, health insurance, and drivers licenses.
