The\u202fCity of Allentown\u202fDepartment of\u202fParks & Recreation\u202fwill begin holding monthly lifeguard certification classes starting next month to expand opportunities for individuals to obtain American Red Cross Lifeguard Certifications.<\/p>\n
Classes will run on the following dates:<\/p>\n
November 5-7, 2021<\/p>\n
December 3-5, 2021<\/p>\n
January 7-9, 2022<\/p>\n
February 4-6, 2022<\/p>\n
March 4-6, 2022<\/p>\n
April 1-3, 2022<\/p>\n
May 6-8, 2022<\/p>\n

Classes are open to anyone at least 15-years of age. Registration for a class is online at www.allentownparksandrec.com<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cStudents can take advantage of any of these seven classes to earn their certification and qualify for a good summer job at a city pool,\u201d said Mayor Ray O\u2019Connell. \u201cThe opportunity is there to work steadily from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n The city of Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation Department has lifeguarding job opportunities available for the 2022 summer season with a starting pay rate of $14.00 per hour.
