ALLENTOWN, Pa. (October 18, 2021)\u00a0\u2014<\/strong>\u00a0Astrid Gonzalez Parrilla, OTD, MBA, FACHE, has joined Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network, a nationally recognized rehabilitation leader committed to transforming lives through expertise, innovation and compassion, as Senior Vice President, Clinical Operations.<\/p>\n An occupational therapist by training with a deep passion for rehabilitation, Gonzalez Parrilla oversees Good Shepherd\u2019s adult and pediatric inpatient rehabilitation hospitals in\u00a0Allentown<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Bethlehem<\/a>,\u00a0long-term acute care hospital<\/a>\u00a0in Bethlehem, home health, long-term care facilities for nearly 160 residents in\u00a0Allentown<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Bethlehem<\/a>, and the admissions department. She serves on Good Shepherd\u2019s\u00a0Senior Leadership Team<\/a>.<\/p>\n A native of Puerto Rico, Gonzalez Parrilla arrived at Good Shepherd and the Lehigh Valley from Brooks Rehabilitation in Florida, where she served as Vice President of Operations for the Brooks – Halifax Health partnership. In that role, Gonzalez Parrilla oversaw the strategic direction, fiscal management and day-to-day operations of the physician practice, a 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility, adult and pediatric outpatient services and acute-care therapy departments.<\/p>\n Before joining Brooks in 2016, Gonzalez Parrilla held positions of increasing responsibility in a 14-year career with Lee Memorial Health System in Fort Meyers, Florida. Gonzalez Parrilla began as a staff occupational therapist and progressed to director of\u00a0quality and\u00a0education. She led efforts to develop quality, safety and patient experience initiatives across the post-acute network.<\/p>\n Gonzalez Parrilla is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus, with a degree in occupational therapy.
