Allentown City Council plans to adopt legislation next month that recodifies the city\u2019s ordinances.<\/p>\n
Bills adopted by City Council are arranged into a single code in a process known as codification. The initial codification of the city code took place in the 1960s. Trying to place new legislation into a coherent system established over 60 years ago creates some organizational problems.<\/p>\n
The recodification project, two years in the making, reorganizes the content and numbering system. The proposed code has many features that make it user friendly.
