{"id":108948,"date":"2021-11-09T00:07:15","date_gmt":"2021-11-09T05:07:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=108948"},"modified":"2021-11-09T00:07:15","modified_gmt":"2021-11-09T05:07:15","slug":"lehigh-valley-wine-trail-giving-before-thanks-event-to-help-fill-shelves-at-two-area-food-banks-in-time-for-thanksgiving","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=108948","title":{"rendered":"LEHIGH VALLEY WINE TRAIL GIVING BEFORE THANKS EVENT TO HELP FILL SHELVES AT TWO AREA FOOD BANKS  IN TIME FOR THANKSGIVING"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>LEHIGH VALLEY, PA \u2013 <em>November 8, 2021<\/em> \u2013 This coming weekend, the five member wineries of the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail will host their third annual food drive event, Giving Before Thanks.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, November 13 and Sunday, November 14 guests are invited to donate a non-perishable food item at each LVWT member winery. In exchange the wineries will provide them with a complimentary three-wine tasting. (A donation must be made at each winery on the trail to receive that winery\u2019s tasting.)<\/p>\n<p>The food will be donated to the food pantry at New Bethany Ministries in Bethlehem and the Portland\/Upper Mount Bethel Food Pantry in the Slate Belt. LVWT will also donate to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Lehigh Valley and Northeast PA $1 for each pound of food that was donated during the weekend event, up to $1,000 total.<\/p>\n<p>Member wineries include: Black River Farms, Bethlehem; Blue Mountain Vineyards, New Tripoli; Franklin Hill Vineyards, Bangor; Tolino Vineyards, Bangor; and Vynecrest, Breinigsville.<\/p>\n<p>Event hours at all of the wineries are Saturday from 11 a.m. \u2013 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon \u2013 5 p.m. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lehighvalleywinetrail.com\/events\/giving-before-thanks\/\">https:\/\/lehighvalleywinetrail.com\/events\/giving-before-thanks\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This event is also an opportunity to pick up wines for the upcoming holiday meals and to give as gifts. Passports for the wine trail\u2019s annual March passport program, now called Wine &amp; Shine Lehigh Valley, will also go on sale this weekend for $39 each at all five wineries and online through EventBrite. <a href=\"https:\/\/lehighvalleywinetrail.com\/events\/wine-and-shine-lehigh-valley\/\">https:\/\/lehighvalleywinetrail.com\/events\/wine-and-shine-lehigh-valley\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Lehigh Valley Wine Trail is a nonprofit organization of wineries whose mission is to promote agri-tourism and to create a premiere wine destination and grape growing region while promoting Pennsylvania wines from the region.
