The cost of the meals will be covered through a partnership with Bethlehem-based financial services firm Valley National Financial Advisors.<\/p>\n<p>Through this unique three-way partnership, every $100 that was donated to WDIY during the station\u2019s fundraiser will result in Valley National Financial Advisors providing the funds to Second Harvest to deliver 21 meals. Second Harvest\u2019s network of agencies which receive meals include food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, childcare facilities and rehabilitation facilities.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are incredibly grateful to WDIY and Valley National Financial Advisors for their partnership again this year,\u201d said Second Harvest Operations Manager David Pulsifer. \u201cMore families are relying on our network\u202fof food pantries than ever before, and this contribution means that Second Harvest can provide 12,128 meals to our neighbors that need them most!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>WDIY has used its Fall Membership Drive to benefit Second Harvest since 2012. To date, WDIY\u2019s Fall Membership Drives have provided over 93,000 meals to Lehigh Valley residents through similar partnerships. Valley National Financial Advisors has partnered with WDIY to cover the costs of the meals since 2017.<\/p>\n<p>WDIY\u2019s 2021 Fall Membership Drive officially ended on October 27<sup>th<\/sup>. The annual drive is the largest fundraiser of the year for WDIY. The drive provides funding for the essential operation of the station.<\/p>\n<p><u>About WDIY:<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/u><br \/>\nWDIY is an award-winning listener-supported public radio station and NPR station based in the Lehigh Valley. The station first began broadcasting in 1995.\u00a0WDIY airs national NPR programs such as Morning Edition and All Things Considered along with locally-produced news reporting, public affairs programs, and music programs hosted by over 90 volunteers from the community. WDIY broadcasts on 88.1 FM with translators on 93.9 FM serving Easton-Phillipsburg and 93.7 FM serving Fogelsville-Trexlertown.
