The Allentown Health Bureau will hold Monday through Friday vaccination clinics at its 245 N. 6th<\/sup>\u00a0Street location to administer COVID-19 and adult and pediatric flu shots.<\/p>\n Effective Monday November 15, the Health Bureau is open for walk-ins \u2013 adult and pediatric flu \u2013 adult first, second or COVID booster doses, and the Pfizer vaccine for children ages 5-to-11 and 12-to-18 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.<\/p>\n Persons can telephone\u00a0610.437.7760 and choose 0\u00a0if an appointment is needed in the evening.<\/p>\n The health bureau has an ample supply of COVID-19 Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccine.<\/p>\n According to the CDC, available data right now show that all three of the\u00a0COVID-19 vaccines approved or authorized in the United States<\/a>\u00a0continue to be\u00a0highly effective<\/a>\u00a0in reducing risk of severe disease, hospitalization, and death, even against the widely circulating\u00a0Delta variant<\/a>. Vaccination remains the best way to protect yourself and reduce the spread of the virus and help prevent new variants from emerging.<\/p>\n All children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.<\/p>\n Masks are required. Please remember to bring your vaccination card.<\/p>\n Pfizer is the only COVID-19 vaccine approved for those between 5-and-11-years- old.\u00a0The FDA and CDC have authorized a 10-microgram dose of Pfizer’s vaccine in young children.<\/p>\n There are an estimated 28 million children in the United States\u00a0in the 5-to-11 age group.<\/p>\n Additional opportunities for children ages 5-to-11 COVID 19 vaccinations are scheduled at the\u00a0Agri-Plex at the Allentown Fairgrounds, 1725 W.
