{"id":109587,"date":"2021-11-23T15:55:25","date_gmt":"2021-11-23T20:55:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=109587"},"modified":"2021-11-23T15:55:25","modified_gmt":"2021-11-23T20:55:25","slug":"allentown-curbside-collections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=109587","title":{"rendered":"ALLENTOWN CURBSIDE COLLECTIONS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There will be no trash or recycling collection in the city of Allentown on Thanksgiving night, Thursday, November 25.\u00a0 The next trash collection for those customers will be on Monday night, November 29.\u00a0 Ten bags of trash and one bulk item will be allowed.<\/p>\n<p>Thursday night recyclers should place their recycling bins and last yard waste out on Thursday night, December 2.<\/p>\n<p>The city\u2019s yard waste site at 1401 Oxford Dr. is now closed for the regular season.<\/p>\n<p>The yard waste site will be open on Saturday, December 4 for yard waste drop off from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (weather permitting) for city of Allentown residents only.<\/p>\n<p>Future 2022 winter dates and hours will be announced at a later date.<\/p>\n<p>The last week of curbside yard waste collection is the week of Thanksgiving (Sunday, November 21 to Friday, November 26). Place yard waste out on your recycling night.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, please call the Bureau of Recycling and Solid Waste at 610-437-8729 or visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allentownpa.gov\/recycle\">www.allentownpa.gov\/recycle<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Bureau of Streets is collecting leaves only throughout the winter season.<\/p>\n<p>Vacuum trucks and street sweepers will be utilized until the end of the year. Starting January 1, (after the final street sweep has been completed), residents must put their leaves in plastic garbage bags at the curb and call the Bureau of Streets at 610-437-7638.
