The $25,000 grant to impact Lehigh Valley school districts.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

ALLENTOWN, PA (December 17, 2021) <\/strong>– Shanthi Project, an education nonprofit providing evidence-based mindfulness services to more than 4,000 children and adults annually across the Greater Lehigh Valley and New Jersey, received a $25,000 grant from Lululemon\u2019s Center for Social Impact to increase opportunities for physical, mental, and social wellbeing resources. The 2021 Here to Be award will directly benefit Shanthi Project\u2019s Calm+Kind+Focused in-class mindfulness workshops for K-12 students in Bethlehem Area School District and Easton Area School District.<\/p>\n

The Calm+Kind+Focused program consists of 16 in-class mindfulness sessions that are approximately 15-20 minutes long. Lessons include techniques to cope with change, strong emotions, show kindness through actions, feel grateful, and practice tolerance.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy cultivating these skills, students will be able to increase their capacity for compassion, understanding, tolerance and have the power to transform their lives and the world,\u201d said Maureen Wendling, Executive Director, Shanthi Project. \u201cShanthi Project is grateful for Lululemon\u2019s support through the Here to Be grant and is dedicated to providing mindfulness tools, support, and resources to all.\u201d<\/p>\n

In its sixth year, the Here to Be grant supports organizations around the globe that create inclusive access to movement and mindfulness and those that advocate for civil and human rights. To date, Here to Be has supported 750 organizations and positively impacted more than 1 million people.<\/p>\n
