On Sun., Jan. 2 families are invited to the SteelStacks campus for this cultural\u00a0event from 3-6 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n

BETHLEHEM, Pa. \u2013\u00a0ArtsQuest<\/a>\u00a0is proud to host its 10th Annual El Dia de los Reyes, Three\u00a0Kings Day, on Sun., Jan. 2. Join the Three Wise Men and follow Bethlehem\u2019s \u201cStar of\u00a0Wonder\u201d on Sun., Jan. 2 from 3 \u2013 6 p.m., to the ArtsQuest Center for the honored tradition\u00a0of Three Kings Day. Sponsors helping to make the event possible include\u00a0B. Braun Medical<\/a>,\u00a0PPL Corporation<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0La MEGA Radio<\/a>\u00a0with gifts funded in part by sponsors and supporters\u00a0of the event like B. Braun Medical, PPL Corporation, Westside Hammer and Carlos Lopez.\u00a0This event is free and open to the public. Face coverings will be required for all attendees\u00a0regardless of age and vaccination status.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are proud to once again host this annual family tradition,\u201d ArtsQuest President and\u00a0CEO Kassie Hilgert said. \u201cThis is one of the first of many events being planned for the new\u00a0year. We are excited to continue to welcome the community back to our campus and\u00a0celebrate being together.\u201d<\/p>\n

During this cultural celebration, families will enjoy live musical performances by\u00a0Los\u00a0Pleneros<\/a>\u00a0de USA and\u00a0Herencia Jibara<\/a>, a reading of \u201cThe Three Kings\u201d in both Spanish and\u00a0English by\u00a0La MEGA Radio<\/a>\u00a0hosts and a visit from Einstein the Snow Camel from\u00a0Peaceable\u00a0Kingdom Petting Zoo<\/a>. Delicious food prepared by\u00a0Holy Infancy Catholic Church<\/a>\u00a0will be\u00a0available for purchase during the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cI continue to be amazed each year that the Three Kings celebration, while attended mostly\u00a0by Latinx families, always draws non-Latinx families who truly want to teach and share this\u00a0tradition with their children,\u201d said ArtsQuest Board of Trustees member and Chair of
\nArtsQuest\u2019s Sabor! Committee Myrna Rivera. \u201cCultural awareness continues to grow each\u00a0year through our Three Kings celebration.\u201d<\/p>\n

Three Kings Day, also known as Epiphany or Theophany, is a Christian feast day in\u00a0celebration of the revelation of God in his Son as Jesus Christ. From Spain to Chile to\u00a0Mexico, Three Kings Day marks the end of the festivity filled \u201c12 Days of Christmas\u201d that\u00a0commemorate the journey of the Three Wise Men or Magi from the East, Gaspar, Melchior\u00a0and Balthazar to Bethlehem by way of horse, camel and elephant to present the newly born\u00a0baby Jesus with holy gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.<\/p>\n

Sunday\u2019s event will take place in the ArtsQuest Center with children being escorted to the\u00a0Blast Furnace Room where the Three Kings will hand out toys funded in part by sponsors\u00a0and supporters of the event like B. Braun Medical, PPL Corporation, Westside Hammer and\u00a0Carlos Lopez. Everyone is welcome to attend this dynamic cultural experience.<\/p>\n
