{"id":110447,"date":"2022-01-03T22:07:13","date_gmt":"2022-01-04T03:07:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=110447"},"modified":"2022-01-03T22:07:13","modified_gmt":"2022-01-04T03:07:13","slug":"artsquests-greater-lehigh-valley-filmmaker-festival-accepting-submissions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=110447","title":{"rendered":"ARTSQUEST\u2019S GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY FILMMAKER FESTIVAL ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The deadline for early submissions into the 2022 Greater Lehigh Valley Filmmaker Festival (GLVFF) is Fri., Jan. 28, 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>BETHLEHEM, Pa. \u2013 The 2022\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelstacks.org\/festivals\/greater-lehigh-valley-filmmaker-festival\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Greater Lehigh Valley Filmmaker Festival<\/a>\u00a0is now\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fest.formstack.com\/forms\/2022_greater_lehigh_valley_filmmaker_festival_submissions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accepting early film submissions<\/a>\u00a0for consideration into the 11th annual event. ArtsQuest is proud to be returning to its in-person format on\u00a0<strong>Sat., April 9<\/strong>\u00a0at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.steelstacks.org\/events\/films\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas<\/a>. This event is a celebration for filmmakers and cinephiles and the evening will include screenings of the top submissions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled to be able to return to the in-person format of the festival,\u201d Anthony DeSanctis, ArtsQuest Programming Manager and Festival Director, said. \u201cThere\u2019s just nothing like seeing your work given the big screen treatment. The atmosphere during the festival is always one of joy and excitement and it\u2019s a great feeling to be able to offer this to our incredibly talented local filmmakers to show the Lehigh Valley just how gifted they are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The ArtsQuest Cinema Committee will work in tandem with a juried panel comprised of committee members and regional film professionals to view submissions and vote on awarding several prestigious titles including \u201cBest Director,\u201d \u201cBest Performance\u201d and \u201cAudience Award\u201d with the top title \u201cBest in Show\u201d receiving a $500 cash prize. Former \u201cBest in Show\u201d winners include 2020\u2019s\u00a0<em>Five Stars<\/em>, by Vernard James and 2019\u2019s\u00a0<em>The Story of the Sectaurs<\/em>, directed by Cliff Reese.<\/p>\n<p>Film entries can be up to 30-minutes long and must have been filmed after Jan. 1, 2019. Copyrighted music is prohibited unless the filmmaker has proper documentation. The early submission deadline is\u00a0<strong>Friday, Jan 28<\/strong>; films submitted by this date will have a discounted submission fee of $10. The discounted $10 rate will also apply to anyone 25 and under submitting films for the festival. All films must be submitted no later than\u00a0<strong>Friday Feb., 25<\/strong>.
