The County of Northampton will conduct its fourth and final public meeting for the\u00a0Minsi Lake Corridor Greenway and Stewardship Plan\u00a0on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Pocono-Slate Belt Shooting Association\u2019s Clubhouse, 744 Lake Minsi Drive, Bangor, PA. This meeting can be accessed online at\u00a0https:\/\/tinyurl.com\/MinsiGreenway4<\/a><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

The approximate 3.7 mile long corridor is located in the northeast corner of Northampton County in Upper Mount Bethel Township.\u00a0The Corridor\u2019s contiguous 1,100 acres of land is owned or leased by Northampton County, PA Fish & Boat Commission, and The Nature Conservancy and includes Minsi Lake, the Gerald E. Seyfried Bear Swamp and Archery Complex, and the Totts Gap Conservation Area.<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

Today, the Minsi Lake Corridor provides opportunities for fishing, non-motorized boating, hiking, walking, birdwatching, archery and hunting. The corridor is home to a complex network of flora and fauna and environmentally sensitive lands. \u00a0The Stewardship Plan will address the compatibility of outdoor recreation with the conservation of sensitive environmental habitats. It will include recommendations for an interconnected system of passive recreation infrastructure and conservation initiatives linked by a system of trails.<\/div>\n

The County retained the team of Simone Collins Landscape Architecture of Norristown, PA, and Resource Environmental Solutions, LLC (RES) to prepare the plan.<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

The final draft of the\u00a0Minsi Lake Corridor Greenway and Stewardship Plan\u00a0will be presented at the meeting on January 12th<\/sup>. The public is invited to attend and comment. Information will be posted on the County\u2019s website\u00a0www.northamptoncounty.org<\/a>\u00a0and the Facebook page\u00a0NorCo Parks and Trails.<\/div>\n
