The mission of Off the Streets Lancaster is to help families and individuals in Lancaster, Pa. get \u201coff the streets\u201d and into permanent housing. The nonprofit organization\u2019s all-volunteer team works with local service agencies to identify individuals and families that have the financial means to pay monthly rent but need assistance with up-front money for a security deposit, which is often the only thing preventing someone from being housed. In addition, Off The Streets Lancaster helps provide furniture and household items to help settle them into their new home.<\/p>\n<p>Nonprofit groups were nominated for the $5,000 donation by the public\u00a0 through\u00a0 Univest\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/UnivestFinancial\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/UnivestFinancial&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1642022111806000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3_1NS7lQ55MVsWBpgMqR0J\">Facebook<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/univest_financial\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/univest_financial&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1642022111806000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2apeXhv75YB-Ity95epKBt\">Instagram<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UnivestCorp\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/twitter.com\/UnivestCorp&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1642022111806000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2m7gXMimi43OIX0D-Nnpcv\">Twitter<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/45630\/admin\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/45630\/admin\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1642022111806000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0cZ1e6l7LzWthyXF5bUUD9\">LinkedIn<\/a>\u00a0pages. Off the Street Lancaster was randomly selected from more than 3,300 entries on behalf of 165 local, nonprofit organizations.\u00a0Previous winners of the Caring for Community Giveaway were A Moment of Magic\u2019s Temple University Chapter, Kisses for Kyle Foundation, Quakertown Community Outreach, Logan\u2019s Heroes Animal Rescue, Hope Against Heroin,\u00a0St. Isidore School,\u00a0The Grannie Project, Vets for Vets and the Bucks County SPCA.<\/p>\n<p>The contest launched December 1, 2021 and entries were accepted through December 31, 2021. To be eligible to win the $5,000, the nonprofit group had to be a\u00a0registered 501 (c) (3) organization that\u00a0operates within Univest\u2019s service area.
