The Director of Corrections announces that it will rescind an order which suspended all inmate transfers into and out of the facility. Beginning on Friday, February 11, 2022, Northampton County Prison (NCP) will begin accepting inmate transfers.<\/p>\n
The order was put in place on January 18, 2022 to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 within the facility. At the time, sixty inmates and twenty Department of Corrections employees had tested positive for COVID-19. As of February 7th, there were no reported cases of COVID-19 at NCP.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur NCP staff has done an amazing job at controlling the spread of the Omicron variant in the facility,\u201d says Lamont McClure. \u201cNow that case numbers have returned to zero, they can begin accepting transfers from other prisons.\u201d<\/p>\n
