(Lehigh Valley, PA) \u2013 WDIY 88.1 FM, Lehigh Valley Public Radio, has captured five awards in the 2022 Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters\u2019 Excellence in Broadcasting Awards.<\/p>\n
The announcement came on Tuesday as the PAB named winners in several different categories for radio and television stations across Pennsylvania. WDIY\u2019s five awards was the highest total for a single radio station across the Commonwealth, only matched by KYW in Philadelphia who also picked up five awards.<\/p>\n
WDIY received awards for a range of outstanding feature stories and public affairs programs as well as an award for outstanding use of digital media.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese awards are a wonderful testament to our small but dedicated news team of staff<\/p>\n
and volunteers and their true connection with our community and their stories,\u201d said Greg Capogna, Executive Director of WDIY. \u201cFor a station of our size to receive this number of awards is a remarkable achievement.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last year, the PAB held the award ceremony virtually.<\/p>\n The wins for WDIY come on the heels of last year\u2019s PAB Excellence in Broadcasting Awards where WDIY\u2019s program Teen Scientist hosted by Moravian Academy student Rayna Malhotra won for Outstanding Radio Public Affairs Program\/Program Series.<\/p>\n About WDIY:<\/u><\/p>\n In 2022, WDIY is celebrating its 27th<\/sup> anniversary of broadcasting as an NPR station and public radio station based in the Lehigh Valley.
