LEHIGH VALLEY, PA. \u2013 WEDNESDAY, MARCH 9, 2022<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u202fLehigh Valley Public Media (LVPM), home of\u00a0PBS39<\/a>\u00a0and its sister station\u00a091.3 WLVR<\/a>, announced today the recipients of its 6th annual\u00a0PBS39 Good Neighbor Awards<\/a>.\u00a0This year\u2019s event will be held in person at the ArtsQuest Center with a live broadcast on PBS39. Honorees will include\u00a0Lee A. Butz,\u00a0<\/strong>Chairman of the Board of Alvin H. Butz, Inc.; long-time civil rights activist and\u00a0former PBS39 Board member\u00a0<\/a>Esther M. Lee<\/strong>,\u00a0Just Born Quality Confections<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0Hispanic Center of the Lehigh Valley<\/strong>\u00a0.<\/p>\n

The PBS39\u00a0Good Neighbor Awards are given each year in the spirit of Fred Rogers to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to improving the quality of life in our community.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are excited to be able to gather in celebration of this year\u2019s Good Neighbor Award honorees to recognize those individuals and organizations that have had such a positive impact on our community,\u201d said Tim Fallon, Chief Executive Officer of Lehigh Valley Public Media. \u201cOur hope is that this event will inspire and encourage our community as we look to brighter days ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 2022 Good Neighbor Awards will take place on Wednesday, May 4 at the ArtsQuest Center\u00a0on\u00a0<\/a>the SteelStacks campus in South Bethlehem, and will be televised live on PBS39, with streaming on\u00a0pbs39.org\/live<\/a> and on Facebook\u00a0 at facebook.com\/PBS39Channel<\/a>. TV personality\u00a0Stacey Stauffer will return as host for this year\u2019s festivities.<\/p>\n

Last year\u2019s event also marked the establishment of the PBS39 Good Neighbor Fund, which provides educational resources to underserved communities in the Lehigh Valley and supports informative programming for students and parents throughout the year.\u00a0A special thank you to\u00a0Highmark Blue Shield<\/a>, who matched the first $15,000 in contributions to the Good Neighbor Fund.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
