{"id":111877,"date":"2022-04-21T21:53:31","date_gmt":"2022-04-22T01:53:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=111877"},"modified":"2022-04-21T21:53:31","modified_gmt":"2022-04-22T01:53:31","slug":"allentown-city-council-confirms-ced-director","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=111877","title":{"rendered":"ALLENTOWN CITY COUNCIL CONFIRMS CED DIRECTOR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Allentown City Council unanimously confirmed the appointment of Vicky Kistler as Community and Economic Development (CED) Director following Mayor Matt Tuerk\u2019s recommendation to promote her to this Cabinet level position.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m excited to work with Vicky, who\u2019s proven herself to be a fantastic leader in managing the City\u2019s health bureau for the past fifteen years,\u201d said Tuerk. \u201cHer experience in public health will center our department\u2019s activities on resolving the social determinants of health that play a huge role in outcomes for our residents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kistler served as Director of the City\u2019s Health Bureau prior to stepping up as Interim CED Director this past February.<\/p>\n<p>As CED Director, she will oversee the Building Standards and Safety Bureau, Business Development Office, Health Bureau, Housing and Federal Grants Office, Human Relations Office, Planning and Zoning Bureau, and Special Events Bureau.<\/p>\n<p>Kistler will also serve as the main liaison between the City and its various community partners that influence the social determinants of health, including business, educational, and health care partners.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m grateful to Mayor Tuerk and to Allentown City Council for this opportunity of a lifetime,\u201d Kistler said. \u201cCED is an important arm of the City and I look forward to using my public health background to help address the social determinants of health in this role.
