The Jacobsburg Historical Society is celebrating their 50th<\/sup> anniversary! On Wednesday, May 4th<\/sup>, from 5:30-7:00 PM, join the Nazareth Area Chamber of Commerce, a proud partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce as we celebrate this milestone with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.<\/p>\n

The Jacobsburg Historical Society was an idea born in the fall of 1972 when members of various community groups joined forces to preserve the beauty of the Bushkill Creek Valley, as well as to bring to life the rich history and culture of the industrial communities of Jacobsburg, Filetown and Boulton. Per the organization\u2019s website, \u201cMany people from all parts of the community joined together to support the preservation of the history and the unique geographical area that is now primarily encompassed by the Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center and is preserved and interpreted by the Jacobsburg Historical Society. These two distinct entities, a non-profit organization (JHS) and a PA state agency (JEEC), have cooperated closely over the decades.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Historical society also is home to several educational programs, including Early American Craft classes, and hosts ample events throughout the year for the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Jacobsburg Historical Society are great Chamber and community partners,\u201d said Jessica O\u2019Donnell, Executive Vice President of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. \u201cThe Nazareth Area Chamber is honored to be a part of this momentous milestone and hope to see this organization thrive for another fifty years!\u201d<\/p>\n

The event will be hosted at the Historical Society\u2019s property, which is located at 402 Henry Road, Nazareth PA. The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 5:45 PM and is free and open to the public. For more information, click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
