{"id":111985,"date":"2022-04-28T23:11:06","date_gmt":"2022-04-29T03:11:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=111985"},"modified":"2022-04-28T23:11:06","modified_gmt":"2022-04-29T03:11:06","slug":"a-community-comes-together-funds-for-the-family","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=111985","title":{"rendered":"A Community Comes Together: \u2018Funds for the Family\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In light of the tragic loss of the Kaufman family sisters (Brianna Baer, age 15, and Abigail Kaufman, age 10) in a house fire on April 1, 2022, the community is breaking bread to raise money for a memorial in their honor.<\/p>\n<p>Join the Hellertown-Lower Saucon Chamber of Commerce, proud partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, for \u201cFunds for the Family,\u201d a fundraiser for the Kaufman family on May 3, 9, and 10<sup>th<\/sup>, 2022. Proceeds from the event will benefit a memorial in Morris J. Dimmick Park.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Chamber is not just a \u2018Chamber of Commerce,\u2019 but a \u2018Chamber of Communities,\u2019\u201d said Jessica O\u2019Donnell, Executive Vice President of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce and liaison to the Hellertown-Lower Saucon Chamber. \u201cWhen the news broke of this terrible tragedy, our board immediately sprung to action in planning these events. Our hope is that we can bring the community together in their memory, and leave something behind to cherish Abigail and Brianna for years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Each dinner costs $15 per person and is being catered by local businesses. On May 3<sup>rd<\/sup> and 10<sup>th<\/sup>, attendees can enjoy a spaghetti and meatball dinner catered by Brooklyn\u2019s Catering at the Carriage House (326 Main Street, Hellertown). In addition, on May 9<sup>th<\/sup>, a BBQ Dinner catered by Nick\u2019s BBQ will also be hosted at the So Wy Co Fire Company (1 Kenny Headman Lane, Bethlehem).
