{"id":112558,"date":"2022-06-08T21:53:32","date_gmt":"2022-06-09T01:53:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=112558"},"modified":"2022-06-08T21:53:32","modified_gmt":"2022-06-09T01:53:32","slug":"boscola-announces-2-641-million-in-criminal-justice-prevention-grants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevalleyledger.com\/?p=112558","title":{"rendered":"Boscola Announces $2.641 Million in Criminal Justice &#038; Prevention Grants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Bethlehem (June 8, 2022)- <\/strong>Senator Lisa Boscola (D-Lehigh\/Northampton) announced today that at its quarterly meeting the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) approved $2,641,726 in grants to Lehigh and Northampton Counties, the Bethlehem Area School District as well as to local non-profits to assist with criminal justice and prevention programs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am pleased that Northampton and Lehigh Counties, the Bethlehem Area School District and non-profits in the Lehigh Valley will receive this important funding to aid in our criminal justice and prevention programs,\u201d Boscola stated.\u00a0 \u201cThrough the allocation of these grant funds, the Commonwealth is assisting with critical efforts to make our communities safer and better places to live.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The funding awards were approved through the Children\u2019s Advocacy Center Advisory Committee (CACAC), the County Adult Probation and Parole Advisory Committee (CAPPAC), the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Committee (JJDPC) and the Criminal Justice Advisory Committee (CJAC).<\/p>\n<p>Northampton County was approved for two grants:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Northampton County IP Program FY22-23 (CAPPAC 2022-2023 Intermediate Punishment Treatment Funds): $265,000<\/li>\n<li>CCAPPG Funds (CAPPAC \u2013 FY 2022-23 &amp; FY 2023-24 County Adult Probation and Parole Funds): $308,320<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Lehigh County was approved for two grants:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>TCAP \u2013 Intermediate Punishment Treatment Program (CAPPAC 2022-2023 Intermediate Punishment Treatment Funds): $660,000<\/li>\n<li>CCAPPG Funds (CAPPAC \u2013 FY 2022-23 &amp; FY 2023-24 County Adult Probation and Parole Funds): $573,536<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additionally, four Lehigh Valley application funding requests were also approved:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Weller Health Center\/Lehigh Valley Hospital, Inc. for Project Safe and Smart Implementation \u2013 Weller Health (CACAC \u2013 Endowment Act Funds): $384,873<\/li>\n<li>KidsPeace Corporation for KidsPeace School Based Services for Youth (JJDPC \u2013 State Violence and Delinquency Prevention Funds): $150,000<\/li>\n<li>Bethlehem Area School District for Student Mental Health Supports (JJDPC \u2013 State Violence and Delinquency Prevention Funds): $150,000<\/li>\n<li>Centers for Humanistic Change, Inc. for Naloxone \u201cBystander\u201d Community Transporters (CJAC \u2013 Substance Abuse, Education and Demand Reduction, Category 1 -Adult Funds): $149,997.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Information provided to TVL by:<br \/>\nKurt J.
