{"id":112633,"date":"2022-06-14T21:37:31","date_gmt":"2022-06-15T01:37:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=112633"},"modified":"2022-06-14T21:37:31","modified_gmt":"2022-06-15T01:37:31","slug":"capital-blue-cross-awarded-for-lehigh-valley-vaccination-commitment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=112633","title":{"rendered":"CAPITAL BLUE CROSS&#8217; AWARDED FOR LEHIGH VALLEY VACCINATION COMMITMENT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Hispanic Center Lehigh Valley (HCLV) will honor Capital Blue Cross this week with its prestigious Community Leadership Award, which recognizes Capital Blue Cross\u2019 singular commitment to providing COVID-19 vaccines to disproportionately impacted Lehigh Valley communities.<\/strong>\u00a0The award will be presented at FIESTA, HCLV\u2019s Annual Fundraising Gala, on June 17.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCapital Blue Cross helped HCLV in its effort to reduce disparities in vaccination rates,\u201d said HCLV Executive Director Victoria Montero. \u201cBy providing vaccines to Lehigh Valley communities of color in the Lehigh Valley, Capital Blue Cross certainly helped meet a critical need.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNothing matters more to Capital Blue Cross than the physical and emotional health of our members and their communities, and our COVID vaccination efforts in harder-to-reach neighborhoods in the Lehigh Valley \u2013 as well as in Harrisburg and Lancaster \u2013 reflect that priority,\u201d said Susan Hubley, Capital Blue Cross vice president of Corporate Social Responsibility. \u201cWe were honored to collaborate with the Hispanic Center Lehigh Valley in these efforts, and we\u2019re humbled to be recognized for going the extra mile to keep Lehigh Valley residents safe and healthy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>HCLV\u2019s Montero pointed to Capital\u2019s longstanding support of the Hispanic Center, and highlighted the health insurer\u2019s uncommon commitment and customer service during a four-day 2021 clinic at the center, where Capital provided 2,000 vaccines.
