Bethlehem, PA (August 11 , 2022) – There are only a few days left to vote for local landmark Historic Hotel Bethlehem in the\u00a0USA Today Best Historic Hotels contest<\/a>. \u201cA win for Historic Hotel Bethlehem is a win for the entire Lehigh Valley,\u201d said hotel Managing Partner Bruce Haines. \u201cTourism is a major economic driver for our communities.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is the fourth consecutive year USA Today travel experts have nominated the iconic location. Last year, the hotel took top honors and, with community support, the hotel team hopes that this year they will hold on to that crown. Haines said, \u201cWe\u2019re thankful the hotel holds such a special place in people\u2019s hearts. Hosting a century of weddings, anniversaries, nonprofit galas, and other special events, means Hotel B is woven into the fabric of many people\u2019s lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

Historic Hotel Bethlehem maintained the #1 spot in the leaderboard since voting began earlier this month. During this week, the final week of voting, the leaderboard remains dark so no one can see who is ahead. \u201cNot being able to see the leaderboard adds a layer of excitement that we hope keeps people engaged in voting daily,\u201d said Director of Room Sales and Guest Experience Kelly Ronalds.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat better way to celebrate our 100th anniversary than once again being named the number one historic hotel in America. With our community\u2019s support, I\u2019m sure we can get there,\u201d smiled Haines.<\/p>\n

How to Vote<\/strong>
\nTo vote, visit\u00a0www.votehotelb.com<\/a>. Individuals can vote daily through August 15 at noon. USA Today will announce the winners on August 26.<\/p>\n

Hotel History<\/strong>
\nHistoric Hotel Bethlehem opened in May of 1922 as a 200 room community hotel. Prior to Historic Hotel Bethlehem, multiple structures occupied the property. In 1741, Moravians constructed the \u201cFirst House of Bethlehem\u201d on the land. In 1823, The Golden Eagle Hotel opened and remained until 1919. In its last days, The Golden Eagle Hotel served as a convalescent home for soldiers returning from World War I.<\/p>\n

The Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce sold shares of the hotel to local residents. This was key in bringing the vision of Bethlehem Steel President Charles Schwab\u2019s vision to light for a grand hotel to Main Street in Bethlehem. Since the roaring \u201820s, Historic Hotel Bethlehem has been a vital community hub. It has hosted presidents, celebrities and thousands of local weddings, anniversaries, proms, galas, and special events as the social center of Bethlehem and the Lehigh Valley.<\/p>\n
