Allentown, PA Today \u2014 On Sunday, September 25, the Liberty Bell Museum will celebrate its 60th Anniversary. The public celebration will last from 2 PM to 4 PM and will take place in front of Zion\u2019s Reformed UCC and the Liberty Bell Museum.<\/p>\n
The celebration marks the diamond jubilee of the Liberty Bell Museum opening its doors to the public. September 25, 2022, is the 245th Anniversary of the Liberty Bell\u2019s arrival at Zion\u2019s Reformed Church in Allentown for safekeeping from British forces under the command of Sir William Howe.<\/p>\n
The life-size papier-m\u00e2ch\u00e9 bell used in the 1976 reenactment of the Liberty Bell\u2019s journey, known as the \u201cLiberty Bell Trek,\u201d will be available for the public to view. The program will feature public speakers and entertainment for all ages. Dave Fry will make a special musical offering.<\/p>\n
\u201cSixty years of telling our story to the community is a milestone worth celebrating. We gladly invite the community to share in our joy and celebrate with us,\u201d said Rev. Joshua Knappenberger, Liberty Bell Museum Executive Director.<\/p>\n
Following the program, Liberty Bell Museum leadership invites visitors to visit the museum free of charge.<\/p>\n
