Jeanne McNeill will be holding a free shredding and electronics recycling event Saturday, Sept. 17 from\u00a0<b>9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the parking lot of Francis H. Sheckler Elementary School, 251 N. 14<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0St<\/b>.<b>, Catasauqua<\/b>.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThieves will go to great lengths to access your personal information to either get your money or steal your identity and simply throwing away documents just isn\u2019t a safe thing to do,\u201d McNeill said. \u201cShredding is a way to safely get rid of your old, personal documents and this event is a great one-stop shop to also safely dispose of your unwanted electronics to help ensure harmful chemicals don\u2019t pollute our environment.\u201d<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Participants must be a resident of either the Borough of Catasauqua or Hanover Township, both in Lehigh County, and proof of residency will be required.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Those residents can bring their unwanted electronics, as well as any documents to be shredded to this year\u2019s event. There is no fee for items such as computers, monitors, DVD and video players or gaming systems, but there is a fee for televisions.
