Oakes, acquired 200+ acres of land (including the 40 million-dollar development formerly known as Mt. Laurel Performing Arts Center and Tom Ridge Pavilion) and began to revitalize and renovate the complex into a state-of-the-art facility called\u00a0<strong>POCONOS PARK<sup>TM<\/sup><\/strong>\u00a0that will play host to not only local and private events, but world-class tour productions, multi-day festivals, and other special events.<\/p>\n<p>The complex includes two sizable venues:\u00a0<strong>Amphitheater at Poconos Park<sup>TM<\/sup>,\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0a 10,000+ capacity, open-air amphitheater with thousands of seats near the stage and a beautiful grass lawn for thousands more to enjoy entertainment in the great outdoors, that can be converted to a 2,600 seat, fully-enclosed venue for year-round performances; and\u00a0<strong>Lakeside Theater at Poconos Park<sup>TM<\/sup>,\u00a0<\/strong>a 10,000 square-foot banquet hall located on a 90-acre scenic lake that can seat up to 400 people for private events such as banquets, corporate retreats, weddings, etc., and serve as a facility for first-class VIP experiences for concerts, festivals and other large events.<\/p>\n<p>The Pocono Chamber of Commerce is excited to host a sneak peak for the public at the property this upcoming Thursday September 8<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0from 12:00PM to 1:00PM. The ribbon cutting ceremonies will begin promptly at 12:30PM. \u201cWe are excited to see the revitalization of such a historic property here in the Poconos bringing in more entertainment and activities to the region,\u201d stated Hayden Rinde, Manager of the Pocono Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n<p>Given its close proximity to New York City, Philadelphia, Newark, New Jersey and other major metropolitan cities,\u00a0<strong>From the Roots\u00a0<\/strong>aims to make POCONOS PARK a \u201cgo-to\u201d facility for the entire East Coast by bringing the facility into the 21<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0Century and bringing in big-name entertainment from around the globe. POCONOS PARK should have a significant impact on local tourism as well as the local economy in the years to come.<\/p>\n<p>This ribbon cutting will be the precursor to the COWBOY LUAU, the first major event to be held at Poconos Park on September 16 &amp; 17<sup>th<\/sup>. COWBOY LUAU is a multi-day country music festival featuring Brantley Gilbert and Brett Young. More events will be announced in the near future.
