{"id":113542,"date":"2022-09-09T15:55:17","date_gmt":"2022-09-09T19:55:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=113542"},"modified":"2022-09-09T15:55:17","modified_gmt":"2022-09-09T19:55:17","slug":"county-receives-1254000-in-dcnr-grants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=113542","title":{"rendered":"County receives $1,254,000 in DCNR grants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lamont McClure and the Division of Parks &amp; Recreation announce receiving three grants from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) totaling $1,254,000.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$300,000 for the development of Gall Farm in Plainfield Township. Construction work will include pedestrian walkways, a parking area, stormwater management measures, ADA access, landscaping and signage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>$300,000 for construction of approximately 1.5 miles of trail on the Nor-Bath Trail in East Allen Township and Bath Borough. Work will include a trailhead, ADA access and other site-related improvements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>$654,000 for development of the Two-Rivers Trail, constructing 1.2 miles of trail from Henry Road in Bushkill Township to State Route 191 in Plainfield Township. Construction of two trailheads, two at-grade road crossings, landscaping and ADA access are included in the plan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThe County of Northampton thanks DCNR for these generous grants,\u201d says Lamont McClure. \u201cDeveloping and maintaining our trail systems contributes greatly to the quality of life of our residents and the visitors who come here to enjoy outdoor recreation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYears of work with many partners has culminated in the funding of these projects,\u201d says Bryan Cope, Superintendent of Parks &amp; Recreation.\u00a0\u201cThese improvements will enhance recreational opportunities within Northampton County and promote our natural resources.
