Robert J. Bennett, Boyle Construction, and Anne Schweitzer to be honored at annual fundraising event.<\/p>\n
Allentown, PA, September 30, 2022<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Meals on Wheels of the Greater Lehigh Valley (MOWGLV) announced today the awardees to be honored at the organization\u2019s annual fundraising event, the Bountiful Bowl. The event will take place at DeSales University on November 4, 2022.<\/p>\n Robert (Rob) J. Bennett, owner of the Bennett Automotive Group, will be awarded the Bob Wood Legacy Award. The award is given to an individual or family that demonstrates vision and serves as a catalyst to create Valley-wide systemic change around a particular community issue.\u00a0By focusing on the root causes of problems and involving numerous organizations and systems, they improve the quality of non-profit services to people in need.\u00a0The Bob Wood awardee has strengthened MOWGLV\u2019s services as part of their broader work on pressing issues. Since 1951, the Bennett Automotive Group has built a family tradition of honesty, trust and integrity while serving the Greater Lehigh Valley, Wyoming Valley, Lebanon Valley, and surrounding communities. Rob Bennett has been an avid supporter of MOWGLV and its mission for the past 13 years. His accomplishments not only in the auto industry, but also serving as a philanthropic leader in the local community make Rob a natural choice for this award.<\/p>\n Boyle Construction is being awarded with the Corporate Partner Award. This award was created to recognize a company who has supported MOWGLV over an extended period of time, not only through monetary donations, but through volunteerism and other altruistic acts. The Corporate Partner Awardee works to promote social reform and takes actions to improve the well-being of human kind. Boyle Construction has \u2018built better\u2019 in Pennsylvania and New Jersey for 45 years, and, to this day, our primary goal is to improve the communities in which we work, live, and play while creating trusting relationships with our clients. For over 20 years, Boyle Construction has been a huge supporter of MOWGLV. Not only through generous donations and team members serving on the MOWGLV Board of Directors, but Boyle Construction has most recently seen MOWGLV through the renovations and move into their new, centrally located headquarters in Allentown.<\/p>\n Anne Schweitzer was awarded the Laros Family Volunteer award at the Volunteer event in the spring of 2022 but will be recognized during the Bountiful Bowl event. Anne had been delivering meals as part of Meals on Wheels of the Greater Lehigh Valley since 1987. Thirty-five years later, at the age of 100, Anne decided to retire from her dedication and commitment of delivering meals to seniors in the Bath and Cherryville areas.
