(October 24, 2022) \u2014\u00a0<\/strong>New Bethany Ministries (NBM), located in Bethlehem, PA, recently promoted staff member Lupita Bonilla to director of residential services. In her new role, Lupita will expand her duties by overseeing caretakers, residential advisor staff, and residential programs and providing resident case management.<\/p>\n<p>Lupita began her career as the transitional housing manager at NBM in December 2019. Along with managing the shelter, she and other staff members worked closely with families to help them obtain permanent housing and provided resources to help them prevent homelessness in the future. As director of residential services, Lupita will continue to manage NBM\u2019s<a href=\"https:\/\/newbethanyministries.org\/transitional-housing-program\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/newbethanyministries.org\/transitional-housing-program\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1666739947176000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3gBsR5qo3---LNJZkgot0Y\">\u00a0Traditional Housing Program<\/a>\u00a0 in addition to managing its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/newbethanyministries.org\/wyandotte-apartments\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/newbethanyministries.org\/wyandotte-apartments\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1666739947176000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2vc4WptBV3V8oTJjGUC6QA\">Wyandotte Apartments Building<\/a>, maintaining inspections, auditing with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.phfa.org\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.phfa.org\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1666739947176000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3zg1k3Lg3KjmINgh9nMFww\">Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency<\/a>, and meeting with residents weekly to encourage, assist, and evaluate their efforts. She also now manages Bethlehem\u2019s and Coplay\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/newbethanyministries.org\/single-room-occupancy\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/newbethanyministries.org\/single-room-occupancy\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1666739947176000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1TCenzl2zLpzJ5FXEhbyrz\">Single Room Occupancy Program<\/a>\u00a0and NBM\u2019s two single-family residences and oversees NBM\u2019s caretakers and residential advisors\u2019 daily performances, amongst other managerial responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNew Bethany is comprised of a dedicated, passionate, and caring group of professionals, and Lupita has always fit that description,\u201d said Veronne Demesyeux, associate executive director of NBM. \u201cShe has a great passion for our work and truly connects with the residents. For example, one of our former residents, Corey, initially felt uncomfortable coming to New Bethany for help until Lupita showed him that she understood his situation and provided him with the push he needed to get back on his feet.
