It will be used for needed facility improvements at the Berks Campus, according to KidsPeace President and CEO\u00a0<strong>Michael Slack<\/strong>, who thanked\u00a0<strong>State Senator Judy Schwank<\/strong>\u00a0and State Representative\u00a0<strong>Mark Rozzi<\/strong>\u00a0for their leadership in securing the funding.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSenator Schwank and Representative Rozzi took the time to tour the Temple facility and see for themselves how this funding can advance our programming there, and we thank them for supporting our grant application,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Slack said the grant will allow KidsPeace to upgrade the building\u2019s HVAC system, make needed repairs to the roof and to the external sidewalk and pavement areas, and complete various other renovations tied to improving the health and safety of those working in the facility and participating in programming there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur Berks Campus associates are making a difference in the lives of local children every day, and with this RACP grant support we will be able to provide a therapeutic environment that is worthy of their efforts,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Located in a former elementary school in Temple, PA, KidsPeace\u2019s Berks Campus provides a range of mental health services to children and youth in the region, featuring individualized instruction and attention and geared towards helping them succeed inside and outside the school setting.\u00a0 The programming includes school-based therapeutic offerings, intensive in-school and after-school programs for children with autism, and foster care and adoption services.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>For 140 years, KidsPeace has been building on its expertise to give hope, help and healing to children, adults and those who love them. Through its comprehensive range of residential treatment programs; accredited educational services; unique psychiatric hospital and foster care and community-based programs, KidsPeace is dedicated to helping people connect, transform and overcome their challenges to ensure a stable future, transition to adulthood and gain independence.
